Wild Akagera Day Safari
THE EXPERIENCE
Rwanda’s only savannah park — two hours from Kigali, and no overnight needed. Akagera is one of Africa’s most remarkable conservation comeback stories: from severely depleted to a functioning Big Five ecosystem within a decade. Lions reintroduced in 2015. Black rhino in 2017. Elephant, giraffe, hippo, buffalo, and zebra abundant. The boat cruise on Lake Ihema is alone worth the early start — hippo pods at close range, Nile crocodile, African fish eagle, and 480+ recorded bird species on the water around you. It is a long day. It is also a very full one.
